Marketo, Inc. is an American software company, headquartered in San Mateo, California. Marketo develops and sells marketing automation software for account-based marketing and other marketing services and products including SEO and content creation. Marketo supports large enterprises to fast-growing small businesses across a variety of industries from technology to higher education. In 2018, Marketo was purchased by Adobe Inc.

"Since they were bought out the turnover has been incredible, no knowledge of procedures and management is too weak to step on and recognize/resolve the gaps. Results in a "take that hill" mentality around there which is frustrating and disheartening for new employees. They get fed a bill of goods about the great company, culture and future that they're buying into, but the reality is that it's quite the opposite and the holding company, Vista, is just propping this place up as fast as possible, posturing for a sale. New staff is just window dressing or staging artifacts to sell. Meanwhile benefits are being pared down, and I have serious doubts about that promised "bonus payout". Very top heavy and hierarchical, with information about what impacts us kept very close to their vest, creating a culture of mistrust and anxiety. Not quite how it was advertised. Work life balance is impossible to maintain while being short staffed, not to mention the knowledge base is gone making it very difficult to 'learn' the business. There is lots of food, they have group events, it really depends on which department you land."

"Well, time flies but Marketo is the same=)
% years ago I've joined an IT vendor who used it. There were some pros and cons but overall quality of service and available features were more than good. Actually it was a blast at those years.
Now I've joined another company and they implemented Marketo.
From this point (I worked with salesforce, hubspot, optimove, exponea and many other well known vendors and main challengers) I could say that they lost their track: same uncomfortable UI, lots of problems, non responsive support and really sloooow scripts.

Maybe Adobe decided to cannibalize their clients after acquisition but my advice if you're thinking to onboard it - skip to any of challengers.

Good: database structure, pricing.

Bad: UI, LP editor, old tech, annoying support, no options to skip a contract"
